October 2005 through October 2006 - work work work. and church.

October 2006 through December 2006 - New Zealand! it's set. it's happening. believe it.

January 2007 - begin classes at Warner Pacific, relocate to SE Portland.

everlasting life

i've begun talks with the employers about travel plans. hooray!

the other day something happened that has never happened to me before. i took the twins to the coffee shop because all three of us were going crazy inside their house. what usually goes down is they run in, scatter toys and books everywhere while i order my non-caffeinated drink and biscuit, and then they eat my biscuit while i enjoy said drink. then people come in and say that they look just like me (cringe). on this occasion, however, a gentleman sat across from me with this thirteen-month-old daughter. after asking if the babies were twins, he asked if i was their nanny! and then he said that i looked too young to have twins!

oh, hooray! a cause for celebration. my wildest dreams have come true.

then there is the comic book family. the dad who writes comic books also writes novels which apparently do rather well. this summer when i went to the beach with them for the weekend, greg told me that he named one of the characters in his latest book missi. i asked, "after me?" and he said, "of course after you!" that was flattering. and, as an added bonus, i have been immortalized in text.

burned out

on babies. and that sucks.

all i can think about is kindergarten cop with arnold schwarzenegger (don't harass my spelling) when arnie asks his female co-star why she wasn't a teacher anymore and she said that she began to hate teaching so much that she worried she would never want kids of her own. so she joined the police force.

am i destined to be the new officer hegland? dear god.

so, i work and work and work. sixty hours this week - six days, and on sunday i ran the nursery and kids' church. it's completely my own passive fault.

the first two weeks of december the twins are going on vacation to hawaii. i think that i'll take one, too. though i have the cash for my NZ plane ticket it looks as though i won't be able to go till next fall, which is fine by me, because then it will be spring-turning-to-summer over there. come december, i'm leaving the continental US!

i'm thinking... hawaii? youth hostel? sunshine and alcohol and reading and ocean? yes and yes and yes and yes. yes! if not hawaii, then somewhere european. i enjoyed the netherlands, and i never explored england outside of london. fourteen days! no babies! the options are limitless!
